Things will get Better

from Steps and Stones by Mark Riley and Martin Neil

/

about

We just love using traditional instruments in a modern way. This track is based on the Ipu Heke, a Hula instrument made from a gourd that is hollowed and dried. Heke stands for double, it's made of 2 gourds put together that results in a louder and fuller tone. Played on the ground it gives the back beat for the dance. Stand up bass for a chill groove by Tony Green. Backing vocals provided my favorite artist, (who also provided all the great graphics for us), Andrew Neuman. This is a mix a folk hip-hop and ukulele based Jahwaiian pop. Love it!

With so much sadness and despair in the world today I just had to write about hope. Being thankful is a gateway to hope, hope is a way see beyond our circumstances. Do we see them as obstacles or opportunities?

lyrics

Give it a little time, give it lots of space
Look up every chance you get
Gaze on the brighter side, take time to realize
All you been given such a gift

Things will get better, you know it's get better
Things will get better
Don't let anything hold you back

So take a little time, take a slower pace
See the chances that you get
Have an open mind, you got to realize
All we have is but a gift

Things will get better
Even if they turn for the worse
The truth is in motion
If we'll just take that path
Things will get better
You gotta hope they get better
Things will get better
Don't let anything hold you back

Cry, cry, cry
It only makes it worse
Why, why, why
Never find out how it works
Me oh my
Gotta get beyond that curse
Don't let anything hold you back

Things will get better, yeah their gonna get better
Things will get better
Don't let anything hold you back…

So Let heaven invade us
As we wade thru this mess
Hope is contagious
And it's better to give and to bless
